- Dark Evergreen leaves
- Non invasive
- Deer won’t eat it
- It is drought tolerant
- It’s low maintenance, requiring a once a year clean up
- No fertilizer required
- No bug or pest problems
- Long lived
- Grows to about 30” and that’s it
- No thorns
- AND it’s an inexpensive plant to buy!
You would be like “no way”, but it’s true. This under utilized and often overlooked shade plant is a true Super Star in the shade garden. The common name is Cast Iron Plant.
